Probation from National Honor Society
Unfortunately, members sometimes do not maintain the high standards for excellence put forth by NHS. This will result in a semester-long probationary period from NHS with possible expulsion if the behavior is not resolved. Reasons for probation include:
- Failure to attend monthly meetings
- Failure to fulfill the community service requirements
- Failure to maintain the minimum cumulative GPA
- Failure to pay yearly dues
If a student is placed on probation from NHS, he or she will receive a letter detailing the reasons for probation. The student will have one semester to correct the stated reasons for probation. If the behavior is corrected, the student will return to membership in good standing. If the behavior is not corrected, the student may be expelled from NHS.
